Weight loss coaching isn’t a diet, although it will almost certainly involve you changing your eating habits. It also isn’t about simply telling you to eat more fruit and vegetables, drink less alcohol and eat less junk food – you know all that already! Let me explain WHY I’m not promoting a diet!
Did you know that two very large scale scientific studies have found that most people who go on a diet, end up heavier (not lighter) over 3 – 5 years.
Let me put that another way… would you get on a plane run by an airline that crashed most of the time? Of course you wouldn’t. So, why do you go on a diet?
We know that in the short term, diets can work, but that’s the problem – they only work in the short term! And because we have often experienced some personal success with diets, we keep looking to them for the answer, even though we know we won’t be able to stick with it for the long term.
The sad truth that most of us ignore and that I want you to face up to, is that diets don’t work.
Deep down you know this, but you keep looking to them because you don’t know what else to do. You stay stuck in this vicious circle (and it is viciously cruel) of a few weeks or months of restriction, deprivation and weight loss before you quit again, and pile the pounds back on… and then some! And every time you do this, you lose a little bit more self confidence.
I want you to stop torturing yourself with false hope.
I want you to break free from the illusion that a diet holds the answer. Diets are almost always about deprivation – about what you can’t have. That becomes the focus and it’s never long before you fall off the wagon…again!
So instead, right now, I want you to DECIDE that you will never go on another diet in your life. That you value you happiness and freedom more than to put yourself through that again! Instead I want you to discover with me a way that REALLY works that’s based on you, your life and the foods you like and enjoy.
